PETER PINSON Jan - Feb 2000 Painter
Peter studied at the National Art School and Sydney Teachers College and taught at Bathurst High School between 1965 and 1967. In 1968 he was awarded the NSW Travelling Art Scholarship to London and France. He is currently Professor at the University of NSW College of Fine Arts. He has written monographs on the artists such as Rodney Milgate, John Passmore and Elwyn Lynn. He has been awarded a number of residencies in recent years including the Gunnery Studio (1995) and Bundanon (1994).
SIMON PORM March- April 2000 Painter/graphic artist b. Australia 1973
An emerging artist Simon was awarded the Mosman Youth Art Prize in 1995 and has shown in group and solo exhibitions including The Estonian House, Manly Arts Festival and at Global Galleries. He is represented by Michael Nagy Gallery in Sydney.
CHRISTOPHER GENTLE May - June 2000 Painter b. United Kingdom 1939
Christopher has worked and travelled extensively throughout England and Europe. He has a long exhibition history: recently showing at Robin Gibson Gallery, Sydney and group exhibitions including Sydney Figurative Painters, In 1996, Chris won the Wyong Shire Festival of Arts on Paper award.
GABRIELLE BATES & PATRICK HOBBS June - July 2000 Video artists b. Australia 1967 and 1969
Gabrielle and Patrick collaborated for the work they produced in this residency. Their interest in art is community oriented; they work in video installation, drawing on themes of environmental, social and cultural landscapes.
PAUL WILLIAMS July- August 2000 Painter
Based in Sydney Paul has participated in outback painting tours, been awarded the Gruner Prize by the New South Wales Art Gallery (1998) and exhibited at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery. He was a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship exhibition in 2000 and 2001.

Currently living and working in Leura, NSW Peter has an extensive exhibiting history of solo and group shows. His most recent exhibition at the Brian Moore Gallery Paddington included works from this Hill End residency.
